NEW : depuis la découverte du CWM recovery pour Y330 cette methode est obsoléte :

Verifier la version de rom:
- Parametre system / A propos du telephone / numéro de version / Y330-****B123
IL n'est pas possible actuellement de rooter aprés B123
EDIT Mars 2015 : DEPUIS LE RECOVERY CE SERAIT POSSIBLE ...

si version supérieure a B123 ( B124 etc ... a B133 suite a mise a jour OTA ) aller a la section "3/ Install B123 " puis refaire section "1/ Option Dev"
si version Inferieure a B123 (B110 , B116 etc ) : vous pouvez rooter avec ou sans faire "3/Install B123"
si version B123 : tout est OK


1/ Option Dev :
-cliquer plusieurs fois sur "Numéro de la version" jusqu'au message "vous êtes développeur"
-dans Parametre system / il y a maintenant "Option développeur" ou "Parametre anvancé" (selon version)
-dans "Option développeur" ou "Parametre avancé" activez "Debogage USB"

2/ Drivers et ROM :
Prérequis :
La dernière rom rootable avec SP Flashtool huawei:

Google drive:

- décompresser l' archive , installer les drivers fournis et redémarrer l'ordinateur
- faire un test des drivers en branchant le téléphone allumé , puis éteins

si problème de drivers vous pouvez tester avec ceux ci:

3/ Install B123 :
- débrancher et éteindre le téléphone , enlever la batterie 5 secondes et la remettre
- lancer SP Flashtools , choisir le scatter fournis avec la rom
- décocher la 1ere ligne (preloader)
- cliquer download , attendre la fin des bandes violettes puis connecter le telephone
- normalement le flash commence sans avoir vérifié la version installée
- après installation vous êtes prés a rooter le téléphone ( commencez a section 1/ Option Dev )

4/ Root :
avec vroot4.3 :

je conseille d'installer SuperSU car le SU installé par Vroot est en chinois (valider acces root par bouton de droite) , puis de geler/désinstaller Vroot
pour ne pas perdre le root ne pas updater par OTA ( B133 ) geler/desinstaller l'applis 'Mise a jour système'

@fred : salut aussi , j'ai bien galeré avec ce probleme et apres 1 semaine de recherche pour rooter la B133 , j'ai du abandonner et revenir en B123 (ce qui n'est pas si facile car la manip fournie par Huawei :merci: ne veut pas faire de Downgrade ... :evil:

non , c'est pas encore en ligne en Update, ceci dis j'ai une sauvegarde de B133 flashable par SP Flashtools, le passage officiel c'est B123 sans modif ni root puis aprés OTA B133. Pour avoir eu les deux assez longtemps je pense qu'ormis la mise a jour des applis google et surtout de la sécurité du system ( root ) il n'y a pas de gros changements.

Bon j'ai installé depuis mon ordi sur ma carte sd et lancé vroot et rien ne se passe le programme se lance et c'est tout .... il s'arrête et rien dégouté :/

Je met à jours le lien vroot, les dernières versions Huawei ... C'est dur, donc parfois faut downgrader et attendre les progrès...

I edited my previous request (if possible to run "update.app" from SD) because I've just follow the procedure running SP Flash Tool from PC (and then Vroot from phone) and it does work like a charm!!!

Hi there!

Trying and retrying, and reading all around, I've just found a better way IMNSHO in order to root even the latest version B133 stock ROM (Y330-U01_V100R001C00B133) with no need neither to unlock first the bootloader nor to use any rooting software.

Starting from the latest B133 stock version first of all make a backup of all your data (MicroSD included).

Then following these steps:

0. Disclaimer - Please note I know that the following procedure does work flawlessly. If you brick your phone during the following procedure you know that you've done this at your own risk!!!

1. Download "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip" from here

and then copy it in your MicroSD root;

2. Download "CWM - ROOT for Huawei Y330.rar" from here

and extract "recovery.img" file (you don't need the other stuff) and then flash it running SP Flash Tool just as above already well described loading first the scatter file and then selecting "recovery.img" only (your phone has to be in Debugging mode, of course);

3. After flashed it then unplug your phone and boot in Recovery mode, now you are in CWM;

4. Select "Install ZIP from SDcard" and then "Choose ZIP from SDcard";

5. Select "UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46" and flash it;

6. After SuperSU install completion select "reboot system now";

ROM may flash stock recovery on boot. Fix?
Yes - Disable recovery flash

7. You're done!

Now your Y330 running its original firmware B133 is rooted and its bootloader is automagically unlocked too with no need to ask (and wait...) HUAWEI site for the unlock code.

I don't find how to flash my phone with recovery.img with SP Flash tool.
The interface doesn't let me select a .img file, only a .bin file in the "Download Agent" field.

Hi!

Please note that I no longer own that phone and I had also lost my password for this forum, so...

However, IF you are a guy who is inexperienced in phone/computing I strongly suggest you to read and read about specified tutorial on-line, otherwise you risk to brick your phone.

In my experience the software version to run is important: I got good results running SP Flash Tool 5.13.52.200 and MTK Droid Tools 2.5.3.

Running SP Flash Tool then the program selections should be as in the screenshot in attachment...

A simple procedure could be as the following (to perform exactly):

1. Run SP Flash Tool (Options > USB Mode & Phone in MTP mode), load the correct scatter file and then select the images to Download: always uncheck "PRELOADER", "DSP_BL", "CACHE" and "USRDATA" if they exist, otherwise you may brick your phone;

2. Turn-off your phone, remove the battery, replace it after some seconds and do not turn-on the phone;

3. Hit Download button and then connect your phone into the computer via USB cable;

4. At the end of process a small window with a green circle and "Download OK" message will pop-up;

5. Quit SP Flash Tool and now you can safely disconnect and then turn-on your phone.

Please note that "PRELOADER" image-file should be in the same folder as the other partition-images that you want to flash (although you always have to uncheck it on the list of images to flash) or else your phone may not be able to enter into Download mode.

To create a "scatter" file I found this simple procedure for you:

I just re-re-re-re-tried to root it with an application called "Kingoroot", and it works !

So no need to flash for downgrade and then root, juste use KingoRoot

You're welcome, Leahkim.

I'm glad to see that your result (through a different way, that's running a rooting app) is the same of previous mine, that's no need to downgrade the original firmware...

However, please note that sometime the rooting could result as a "false positive": in order to be sure that your phone has a true root you could need to test it with a small app after a full phone reboot... just as an example, Root Checker seems to do the work (I hope it is still a free app, otherwise please do a related search on-line).

Furthermore please note that the way I previously described in order to root your phone not only does not require the downgrade, but it does not require to run even any app in order to root your phone: just a recovery image and then the "SuperSU" apk...

In my opinion it is a better way (please read: the best way) the way that does avoid to install a rooting app, even if the rooting app is considered as "trusted"...
